The most fun you can have betting on the Super Bowl is getting action on some of the wild and wacky prop bets that online sportsbooks offer for the big game. You can find props for anything from the length of the national anthem, to the color of the winning teams gatorade shower and everything in between. These types of prop bets really add to the excitement of the Super Bowl and make for some very interesting viewing.
In this article I will outline a few examples of the common prop bets you can place on the game and then also get into the fun, wacky, novelty props on offer at the end. I will also provide you with a very basic 3 step guide to getting your bets in on these props online in time for Super Bowl 55.
All of the props I’m looking at below are taken from BetOnline.ag.

Super Bowl Prop Bets – Game Focused
Super Bowl 55 MVP
If the Chiefs win the Super Bowl, it is expected that Patrick Mahomes will likely win the MVP Award. If the Buccaneers win then it’s most likely that Tom Brady wins the honor. That said, a few big plays from one of the other players on the team and the MVP could be given to someone other than the winning teams quarterback. I think Leonard Fournette at +3300 is an interesting play. If “Playoff Lenny” shows up and goes for over 100 yards and two touchdowns I think he could get the nod.
Player To Score First Touchdown
- Damien Williams (Chiefs) +600
- Raaheem Mostert (49ers) +650
- Travis Kelce (Chiefs) +800
- Tyreek Hill (Chiefs) +800
- George Kittle (49ers) +1000
- Deebo Samuel (49ers) +1200
- Emmanuel Sanders (49ers) +1600
- Sammy Watkins (49ers) +1600
- Tevin Coleman (49ers) +1600
I like Mostert +650 here. The Chiefs have fallen behind in the first quarter of both of their previous playoff games, so I think there’s a good chance the 49ers score first, and Mostert is the most likely of the Niners to find the end zone.
Super Bowl Prop Bets – Fun Novelty Props
Ok, that’s enough of the normal football related prop bets. To see a full list head over to BetOnline.ag. There is an absolutely monster selection of Super Bowl prop bets where you can basically bet on any statistic from the game.
Here are some of my favorite novelty props for the game:
Time To Sing National Anthem
- Over 2 minutes -120
- Under 2 minutes -120
Jazmine Sullivan and Eric Church are singing the National Anthem as a duet this year. There is no internet evidence of Eric Church singing the Anthem, but Jazmine Sullivan sang the National Anthem at the 2014 NHL All-Star game with her rendition coming in just under 2 minutes. The last time there was a duo singing the anthem, Aaron Neville and Aretha Franklin finished the song in 2 minutes and 9 seconds. Last year, Demi Lovato finished in 1 minute and 49 seconds. I like the over here. I think the duet could factor in and push the song longer.
Who will the MVP Refer to 1st
- Teammates +100
- God/Religion +225
- USA +700
- Winning City +700
- Family +900
- Coach or coaches +1000
- Team Owner +2000
This is always a popular prop as well, and you can usually get some insight based on which players are most likely to win the award. If Mahomes wins the award I think most people expect him to thank his teammates, which is why that prop is the favorite. Mahomes thanked his teammates first in his MVP speech from last years Super Bowl.
First Anheuser-Busch brand commercial shown during the game?
- Bud Light +100
- Michelob Ultra +125
- Bud Light Seltzer Lemonade +450
- Michelob Ultra Organic Seltzer +500
The commercials are always a hot topic during the Super Bowl, and Anheuser-Busch is a company that goes big during the Big Game.
Patrick Mahomes 1st Passing Attempt
- Complete -225
- Incomplete +180
- Interception +1800
The Mahomes props will be popular. I’m expecting Mahomes to complete his first pass..
What color will the liquid be that is poured on the winning coach?
- Orange +100
- Red/Pink +300
- Yellow/Green/Lime +450
- Clear/Water +600
- Blue +700
- Purple +750
This is a very popular Super Bowl prop. I always go with water on this prop because if the players have any decency they won’t get their coach all sticky for the trophy ceremony. Last year the liquid was orange, which is why Orange is the favorite this year. It’s been many years since the clear/water choice won this prop bet, but I still like it at 6-1.
As you can see the prop bets can get pretty outrageous. There are several other The Weeknd, Eric Church, Joe Biden, and other celebrity props you can bet on as well. Check out BetOnline.ag for the full list.
